Happy Fourth of July

I hope everyone had a great 4th. I know we did. Being a new town for a short period of time and not knowing anyone can be difficult, then add a holiday that is more fun with friends and family and that can be difficult. We were all good though. Here is what we did for the 4th. We relaxed and took it easy during the day...then we headed up to Sunnyside Park. This is a huge open park that had a little creek, a playarea, frisbee golf course, baseball field, and tennis courts. When we got there we realized that the 10,000 some odd people that live in Pullman year round and didn't go out of town for the 4th had all come to the celebration. Surprisingly though it wasn't cramp my style cramped for as many people as we had there. There was tons of food (hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, BBQ Beef sandwiches, corn on the cob, backed beans, chips, watermelon, and tons of yummy homemade desserts as well as ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and sno cones, and of course drinks.), there was a bounce house and one of those giant inflated slides, there was a stage that had Kingspin playing all night, and the weather was perfect for it all. The fireworks were great and completly chorigraphed to music. They used Proud to be an American, Montgomery Gentrys Stars and Stripes, Stars and Stripes Forever, Niel Diamond In America, Salute to the Trrops Medley, and Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue. It was soooo cool. Were we were sitting was right down from where they shoot off the fireworks. Before the fireworks show we got to see a lot of people who live around the park shoot stuff off. The thing about living in WA is there are very few fireworks that are illeagal so some of the personal fireworks are just as big as any major fireworks shows. Faith loved that part she ohhhed and awwed with joy. Then it was time for our fireworks display and they shut all the flood light and stage lights off and she was ok with that and then they set off the first set of fireworks with a loud boom and scared the crap out of my poor daughter, she let out a huge whale and a mommmmma and from then on I held her in my lap and she watched the fireworks a little scared and then towards the end she loosened up and started to ohh and aww again it was really cute. We all had a killer time and having my sister here made it great too.
